I Hated Sparkling Water Until I Loved Sparkling Water
There are some things in life I’ve hated for as long as I can remember—or at least couldn’t get the hype about—but then, out of nowhere, I become their biggest fan.
Sparkling water is one of those things. For most of my life, I couldn’t understand how anyone could drink it and actually enjoy it, let alone buy it at the supermarket or order it at a restaurant. To me, it seemed like sparkling water took the freshness of regular water, ruined it with bubbles (I want to drink, not play with my tongue!), and lacked the fun flavors of other sparkling drinks. Why would anyone want that?
Then one day, I was at a dinner where sparkling water was on the table, and someone convinced me to give it another shot. Unwillingly, I poured a bit into my glass, took a sip, and suddenly—I loved it. Every sip was amazing. The bubbles tingling on my tongue, the freshness of water but with a little something extra—it just clicked. Ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with sparkling water.
I have no idea why my mind changed so drastically in that moment, but it did. I guess some things in life are like that. One day, you wake up and go from a hater to a lover. (This also happened to me with techno music, but that’s a story for another day.)
