Food is a time machine

You eat different foods throughout your life. As a child, you eat whatever your parents prepare for you. As you grow older, you might start cooking for yourself, building your own collection of recipes. Each recipe becomes connected to a specific time in your life. It’s similar to how certain smells can bring back memories from your past.

Here’s the thing about food: it’s reproducible. At any moment, you can travel back in time to those moments when you ate a particular recipe. With just a recipe, you can revisit those memories.
